Start with your needs, not the name of the tree

Spruce, pine, Caucasian fir or Bavarian fir suggest the character of the Christmas tree, but do not determine its size or structure. The FT14, FT29 and FT06 are good examples. All three are modelled on the Caucasian fir, also known as the Nordmann fir, but the FT14 is a wide PVC model designed for lavish decoration, the FT29 features a very dense PE/PVC crown, and the FT06 is made from 100% PE and fitted with the Snap-Tree™ system.

So, before comparing the models, ask yourself these three questions.

Question 1: How much space can you allocate for a Christmas tree?

Height is just one dimension. The width of the crown is just as important. Among the 180 cm Christmas trees, the FT36 model is approximately 80 cm wide, the FT07 approximately 98 cm, and the spreading FT14 approximately 134 cm. The difference is over half a metre, even though all the trees are the same height.

So, before you buy, measure the available floor space as well. Take into account the space needed for walking round it, room for presents, and the distance from furniture, curtains and heat sources. Don’t base your decision solely on terms like ‘full’, ‘waisted’ or ‘slim’, as these describe the silhouette rather than the actual width.

Question 2: The Christmas tree or the decorations – which should take centre stage?

If you have a large collection of baubles, choose a Christmas tree with a more open structure. The FT01 has distinct gaps between its branches, whilst the FT14 has a broad silhouette and sturdy branches that can also accommodate larger decorations.

If you have just a few carefully chosen decorations, a very dense Christmas tree will work better, such as the FT29, FT35, FT07 or FT36. With these models, the branches themselves create a significant part of the effect: their colour, matt finish, three-dimensional shape and high density.

Question 3: How important is the appearance of the individual branches to you?

PVC Christmas trees, such as the FT01, FT04 and FT14, build their volume from specially moulded strands of needles. They are a good choice for lavish decorations and are available in a range of heights. Hybrid models, including the FT29, combine a PVC core with three-dimensional PE branches in the most visible parts of the crown.

In 100% PE Christmas trees, such as the FT02, FT06, FT07, FT35 and FT36, the entire crown is made up of moulded, three-dimensional branches. The difference is best seen up close, which is why a PE Christmas tree is a particularly good choice for minimalist decorations or when placed near a table, sofa or walkway.

FT14, FT29 or FT06? Three Caucasian firs, three different effects

The FT14, FT29 and FT06 are all modelled on the Caucasian fir, but cater to different needs. The FT14 focuses on space and sturdy branches for decorations, the FT29 on a compact and very dense crown, and the FT06 on natural 100% PE detail and easy assembly.

FT14 – when decorations tell the Christmas story

The FT14 christmas tree is a wide Fairy-Needles™ PVC fir tree for those who like to decorate their Christmas tree lavishly. Its multi-layered structure and reinforced branches allow baubles, figurines, bows and heavier hangings to be placed at different levels and deeper within the crown

This model has a spreading shape: at a height of 180 cm, it is approximately 134 cm wide, and in the 220 cm version, approximately 152 cm. It is also available in 120 and 150 cm versions, making it easy to maintain its classic character in a smaller space.

Choose the FT14 if:

• you have lots of baubles or heavier decorations;

FT29 – when you want a full, dark and very dense crown

The FT29 is a hybrid Christmas tree with 60 per cent PE content. The moulded branches create a realistic appearance on the outer parts, whilst the PVC filling provides the crown with substantial volume. The result is a full, dark-green fir with very few visible gaps.

The 180 cm version of the FT29 is approximately 120 cm wide, whilst the 220 cm version is approximately 130 cm wide. It is therefore more compact than the FT14, though it remains a full-sized model. With heights of 120, 150, 180 and 220 cm available, it can be adapted to suit a variety of interiors.

Choose the FT29 if:

• you want a very dense fir tree with a high proportion of PE branches;

• you prefer a compact crown and a moderate number of decorations;

• you also need a shorter version, such as 120 or 150 cm.

Consider a different model if: you want to display a very large collection of decorations or you’re looking for a tree made entirely from PE.

FT06 – when natural detail and easy assembly are key

The FT06 is made from 100% moulded PE. Its voluminous stems, matt needles and clearly defined branch structure replicate a natural fir tree without creating an overly dense crown. This model looks good up close and with minimalist decoration.

The tree is approximately 112 cm wide at a height of 180 cm and approximately 114 cm wide at 220 cm. The Snap-Tree™ system ensures that, once the sections are joined, the main branches automatically fall into place. The FT06 is available in heights of 180, 220 and 250 cm.

Choose the FT06 if:

• a 100% PE Christmas tree is your top priority;

• you prefer a natural shape to maximum density;

How do you make the final decision?

FT29 or FT35? Similar silhouette, different branch structure

The FT29 and FT35 are very dense Caucasian firs with a similar shape and dimensions: approximately 120 cm wide by 180 cm high, and 130 cm wide by 220 cm high. The main difference, therefore, lies not in size, but in the material and the appearance of the entire crown when viewed up close.

FT29 – a very dense fir with a high proportion of PE branches

In the FT29, moulded PE branches make up 60 per cent of the structure and are located primarily in the visible sections. The PVC filling adds volume to the interior, allowing the Christmas tree to combine realistic detail with a robust, compact effect.

This is a good choice if you’re looking for high density but don’t need every twig to be made of PE. An additional advantage is the choice of four heights: 120, 150, 180 and 220 cm.

Choose the FT29 if:

• you want a very dense crown combining realistic PE twigs with a sturdy PVC filling;

• you need a Christmas tree 120 or 150 cm tall;

• you’re planning moderate or more elaborate decoration.

Consider a different model if: you expect the entire crown, including its deeper sections, to be made of three-dimensional PE branches.

FT35 – when the appearance of every twig matters

The FT35 christmas tree is made entirely from PE, which is why its three-dimensional structure extends deeper into the crown. The ultra-matt finish reduces shine, whilst Anti-Translucency™ technology helps to maintain the full effect even under side lighting.

The model is available in heights of 180 and 220 cm. It is best suited to those who often view the Christmas tree up close, prefer minimalist decorations and pay attention to the shape of individual branches.

When will the difference be most noticeable?

With lavish decorations and when placed at the back of a large living room, the advantage of the 100% PE construction will be less apparent. It will become more noticeable next to a table, a sofa, the entrance to the living room, a large window or in a spot that is frequently photographed. In such conditions, the matt finish, the sense of depth and the craftsmanship of the FT35’s branches are more clearly visible.

Which Christmas tree should you choose?

Both trees are among the fullest FairyTrees models. With the FT29, you’ll first notice its compact shape and realistic branches across its surface. With the FT35, the uniform, three-dimensional detail of the entire crown is equally important.

Choose the FT29 if you want a very dense, dark-green hybrid fir or need a height of 120 or 150 cm. Choose the FT35 if you’re looking for a similarly full silhouette but expect a 100% PE structure and a refined appearance to every twig.

FT07 or FT36? Two slim Christmas trees, two different styles

The FT07 and FT36 are dense, slim Christmas trees made from 100% PE. Both are available in heights of 180 and 220 cm, but differ in width, colour, how they are set up and the type of stand. The FT07 is dark, classic and self-expanding, whilst the FT36 is lighter, narrower and more contemporary.

FT07 – a slim, dark fir tree that’s easy to put up

The FT07 is modelled on the Caucasian fir. It is approximately 98 cm wide and 180 cm tall, and 104 cm wide and 220 cm tall, so it takes up less space than full-sized fir trees, but still requires around one metre of free space.

The dark green 100% PE tree top utilises Anti-Translucency™ technology and looks great with both traditional decorations and just fairy lights. The Snap-Tree™ system makes it easy to set up, whilst the metal stand provides a sturdy base.

Choose the FT07 if:

• you want a dark, classic slim Christmas tree;

• you have about one metre of space in width;

FT36 – the slimmest fir tree in a fresh shade of green

The FT36 christmas tree is even narrower: at a height of 180 cm, it is approximately 80 cm wide, and at 220 cm, approximately 90 cm. Despite its small diameter, it remains very dense, and Anti-Translucency™ helps to minimise gaps.

The light Fairy Green™ shade gives the Christmas tree a fresher and lighter character. The ultra-matt 100% PE branches complement light-coloured interiors, natural wood and white, silver and pastel decorations. The FT36 is assembled in the traditional way and comes with a decorative wooden stand.

Choose the FT36 if:

FT01 – when your collection of decorations is the most important thing

FT01 is a classic PVC spruce with a full yet more open structure. The spacing between the branches allows you to hang baubles at varying depths and showcase a large, varied collection to its best advantage.

This model is available in heights of 120, 150, 180 and 220 cm. The taller versions are wide: approximately 130 cm at 180 cm in height and 148 cm at 220 cm. Choose the FT01 if your decorations are to take centre stage and maximum density isn’t a priority.

Choose the FT01 if:

• you want to showcase a large collection of baubles and pendants;

• you need a Christmas tree in one of four popular heights.

Consider a different model when: the Christmas tree itself is intended to create a very compact, full effect with just a few decorations.

Choose the FT02 if:

FT04 – when you want a winter feel even before you start decorating

FT04 is a PVC pine tree with long needles, bleached tips and natural cones. As soon as it’s set up, it creates a wintry, partially decorated look, so it doesn’t need to be completely covered in decorations.

It pairs well with white, silver, cream, wood and warm fairy lights. Choose FT04 if you want a striking artificial pine with a consistent winter feel. A solid green model would be better if you completely change your colour scheme every year.

Choose FT04 if:

FT34 – when you’re looking for a classic hybrid between PVC and a high proportion of PE

The FT34 combines the classic look of a PVC fir tree with realistic PE accents in the visible parts of the crown. It has a lower proportion of PE and a lower density than the FT29, so it leaves more space for baubles whilst looking more spacious than a model made entirely of PVC.
